Ekumfi Essarkyir (C/R), April 7, GNA - The Nusrat Jahan Scheme, a unit of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission responsible for schools, hospitals and humanitarian services, has donated sports kit worth about 20 million cedis to the Ekumfi T.I. Ahmadiyya Secondary School at Essarkyir in the Central Region.

The kit presented through Maulvi Wahab Adam, Ameer and Missionary in-charge of the Mission in Ghana, included equipment for volley ball, basket ball, table tennis, hockey, football and sporting footwear. Speaking during the presentation, Maulvi Adam said the Mission cherished the school because it was located "on the soil of Ekwraful" where the faith was started in 1921 before it was moved to Saltpond. He noted that the current leader of the faith worldwide, Huzoor Khalifatul Masih V, was the second Headmaster of the school and stressed the determination of Mission to assist the institution to become one of the best.

Mr Mumuni Issah Dimbie, Headmaster, who received the kit commended the Scheme for the donation and pledged that the equipment would be put to good use to enhance the school's performance in sports. 07 April 06
