Yirenkyikrom Youth Association has donated assorted items to the Kwahu Yirenkyirom community in the Kwahu South District of the Eastern Region.
The items worth thousands of cedis include new and used clothing, rice, oil and bags.
The youth also organised a clean-up exercise session with the community led by Mr. Samuel Yirenkyi Obeng, the president of the Association in Accra.
In an interview, the president said the gesture was part of the organization’s corporate social responsibility to respond to the needs of society in deprived areas.
Mr. Ansong Kesse who is the PRO for the association said, some of the items were solicited from the Member of Parliament for the area, Mr. Seth Kwame Acheampong, friends and philanthropists to support the needy, explaining that the core value is to support education, health among others in the society.
He added that the organization would work assiduously to ensure the sustainability of the project, adding that responding to the needs of the underprivileged, helps to build their confidence and make them feel loved in society.
He appealed to the public and other corporate bodies to support the organization in cash, or items to continue to advance the cause to humanity.
Nana Sasu Kyere II, Odikro of Kwahu Yirenkyikrom community commended the management of the association for the donation adding that the gesture was the first of its kind in the community.
He appealed to the government to come to their aid and build school and CHIPs compound for the community.
Some of the beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to the association.
