The National Youth Organiser for the National Democratic Congress, George Opare Addo has accused the Akufo-Addo led government of failing to take pragmatic measures to fix the bad road network in the country.

Mr. George Opare Addo said this in response to massive criticism of poor nature of roads nationwide undertaken under the Mahama-led administration.

He stressed that there is a huge outcry for better roads because the NPP had failed to maintain the roads constructed by the previous NDC government.

“For three years, the NPP has done nothing so the roads have deteriorated so people cannot ride safely on their roads and that is why there is that huge outcry for roads to be constructed,” George Opare Addo told Kwaku Dawuro on ‘Medo Ghana’ on Accra-based Kingdom FM 107.7.

He also dismissed the NPP’s suggestion that the NDC had not embarked on major road projects while in power, saying “the Akufo-Addo government has forgotten that the beach road has been done.

According to him, the country can not continue to witness infrastructural deficit whiles we spend a huge amount of money on roads that do not last.

He posited that no government could construct all roads in the country but the few that have been constructed must have a value-for-money status.
