The Tijaniya Muslim Council of Ghana (TMCG) has honoured the Minister for Inner-Cities and Zongo Development, Dr. Mustapha Abdul-Hamid with a citation for his timely intervention and resolution of a volatile situation involving one of its leaders.
The citation was presented to the Minister by executives of the Council Friday, 3rd January, 2020 at the Osu Castle.
According to the TMCG, the citation is in recognition of Dr. Mustapha Hamid's enormous contribution he made to ensure lasting peace in the fraternity after an attack on the Council's leader in 2018.
A statement signed by Mallam Thayabu Sani, Greater Accra Chairman of the TMCG stated, "You have opened your doors to our organization anytime we needed assistance and we are eternally grateful."
The TMCG also commended Dr. Mustapha Hamid for some innovative policies and projects his ministry has embarked on in Zongos communities across the country.
It added the great works are duly recognised and appreciated and expressed readiness to collaborate with the ministry for the development of Ghana.
"The great work you are doing for the people of Zango under your ministry which includes, the construction of astroturf, the Zongo Coders program, the Zongo Cuisine Promotion Program, among others is greatly recognized and appreciated.
"We look forward to a continuous relationship with you for the development of our dear nation. We pray Allah guide and protect you in all your endeavors," the statement concluded.
