Petition For The Removal Of President Akufo-Addo (He Did Not Take His Presidential Oath By Saying It Verbatim)

Feature Article Petition For The Removal Of President Akufo-Addo He Did Not Take His Presidential Oath By Saying It Verbatim
JAN 1, 2020 LISTEN

To: Haruna Iddrisu (Minority Leader), Ghana’s Minority in Parliament and Citizens of the Republic of Ghana

Dear People of Ghana:
Yeshua is lord! Greetings in the name of Yeshua ha Mashyak (Jesus the Christ). May God bless the Black Star of Africa, the Republic of Ghana. I am writing for the purpose of getting your attention on the former subject heading. Thank you.

To start, tell me, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, has the current occupant of the Presidency violated the constitution? I mean to say, that if an individual receives the majority vote in an election that leads to public office and despite this, does not declare verbatim, either the Oath of Allegiance or let’s say, the Presidential Oath, is this a violation of the Constitution of the Republic of Ghana? Tell me what you think?

And if so, how come Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo—Nana Akufo-Addo did not state verbatim, the very words of the Presidential Oath, as read by the then Chief Justice Theodora Wood on January 7/17, and as indicated in the Constitution of the Republic of Ghana—is still occupying an office that he was not properly sworn in for? In addition, why is he making decisions in the behalf of the Republic of Ghana? Thank you.

God’s Vision, Ghana and its Current State of Governmental Affairs

There is a Hebrew proverb which provides insight into a fundamental truth about vision. This proverb implies that a vision of righteousness, in particular, is not achievable without law. That is, without a righteous law in particular, a vision cannot be achieved. It is therefore written, “Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keeps the law, happy is he” (Proverbs 29:18, KJV). Again, where there is no legal standard of righteousness, a vision is unachievable, and will lead to the spiritual death of a people or nation.

In harmony with the former statements about vision, I will say, that the visions of humanity are vain! That is, only when they are sought after in the absence of God’s input. Truly, some visions (political and economic visions included), have been and continue to be just meaningless, since they have been birthed in the absence of righteous law! This is to say that, for example, when a nation decides to pursue government policies that are rooted in the violation of divine law, then, this can lead to a situation where the men and women of a culture, become dispossessed of the wisdom, knowledge and understanding of how to properly deal with some of the more challenging issues of society, that they may face. In this case, a situation in turn can arise whereby systems of government do not end up working in favour of the “wellbeing” and prosperity of upcoming and future generations. Again, things like this happen when public policy does not work to uphold what is right in the sight of God. Having explained this, let me now proceed to outline the main elements of this petition.

Today, I would like to present an argument in favour of something better than the mediocrity some have been dishing out in Ghana since democracy was re-introduced to the republic in certain political contexts. Today, I plead the case for righteousness! Let righteous law prevail! Perhaps, there is a need to remove Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo from the Office of the Presidency? My case is outlined as follows:

The Three (3) Point Petition to Remove Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo from the Office of the Presidency

The Constitution of the Republic of Ghana reads, “69. (1) The President shall be removed from office if he is found, in accordance with the provisions of this article - (a) to have acted in willful violation of the oath of allegiance and the presidential oath set out in the Second Schedule to, or in willful violation of any other provision of, this Constitution; or (b) to have conducted himself in a manner - (i) which brings or is likely to bring the high office of President into disrepute, ridicule or contempt; or (ii) prejudicial or inimical to the economy or the security of the State; or (c) to be incapable of performing the functions of his office by reason of infirmity of body or mind.”

Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo should be removed because of the these three (3) points:

  1. He is a sitting overseer and office holder who did not “preserve” the Constitution of the Republic of Ghana as stated in the Oath of Allegiance. He did this by not accurately swearing the Presidential Oath of office as stipulated in the Second Schedule of the Constitution of the Republic of Ghana.
  2. He has conducted himself in a manner that is prejudicial to the security of the state called the Republic of Ghana. He did this by not preserving and protecting the Constitution of the Republic of Ghana, in that he did not accurately swear or solemnly affirm the Presidential Oath of office stated in the constitution. Despite this, he currently exercises and has been exercising the authority associated with the President’s office. He, however, is not legitimately sworn in as President of Ghana.
  3. By altering, howbeit, by any means, the Presidential Oath, spoken by him, at the beginning of his term as president-elect. In that case, executive authority has and continues to be exercised by an overseer and office holder, despite his not having met the requirements of the Constitution of the Republic of Ghana, which stipulates that the Presidential Oath was supposed to have been sworn or solemnly affirmed (VERBATIM is the context of the requirement), based on the Second Schedule of the Constitution of the Republic of Ghana. He (Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo), has therefore not preserved the constitution. He has also violated the constitution based on the law of righteousness.

Conclusory Comments
Righteousness holds that one’s “yes” should be “yes” and that, one’s “no” should mean “no”, since this is necessary in order to ascertain the intent of a person’s words and conduct.

I will now say that, it is not my interest or intent to pressure anyone into believing that God endorses what I have done here today in pushing this petition into the public domain. Rather, it is wisdom that inclines me to see through the Republic of Ghana’s modern-day power structure, and to consider people first, as well as the generations unborn, whose interest I am obliged (as a man of God) to watch over, just like some watched over mine during my youth. Today, I say that if you wish to enable the removal of the sitting overseer and office holder who goes by the title of “President of the Republic of Ghana”, then follow my lead and continue to read this document.

If you agree with the preceding three (3) points listed in this letter to the Minority Leader, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, the Minority in Parliament and the Citizens of Ghana; and if you support that Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo should be removed given the former “three (3) points”, please print out a copy of the “Petition Signatures” portion of this document (last page of document), place your signature on it, the date and as well, indicate the choice to “Remove/Not Remove” on the document. Finally, mail it to the address below, care of Parliament of Ghana.

Following from this, it will be left to the Minority in Parliament to resolve the issue of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s failure to properly swear Ghana’s Presidential Oath verbatim, as constitutionally required by a president-elect, such as Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
