Nkoranza(B/A), April 02, GNA - Five primary schools in Nkoranza district are to benefit from the NEPAD School Feeding Programme under which pupils enjoy free lunch daily.

They are, Pinihe Roman Catholic, Bomiri Local, Ayerede Roman Catholic, Akropong Local and Baafi Local.

Mr Kwabena Agyeman-Badu, Nkoranza District Director of Education, who disclosed this to the Ghana News Agency at Nkroranza, commended the Government for the programme and the establishment of the Capitation grant to schools.

He said the two measures coupled with the provision of school uniforms and learning materials to needy students by the Government had led to increase in the enrolment of pupils in schools and promotion of education.

Mr Agyeman-Badu called on opinion leaders; assembly members, unit committees, religious leaders and chiefs to assist in the implementation of the measures and ensure the pupils were retained in the schools. He advised school management committees of the beneficiary schools to provide the necessary facilities such as a kitchen and storeroom for the food items.
