The 1st Women in Finance & Investment Summit was successfully held in Accra on December 14, 2019 at the Erata Hotel.

The Summit was hosted by the CGIA Network Ghana, a member network of the CGIA Institute in partnership with Bank of Africa, the series Sponsor for 2019.

WIFIS 2019 brought together over 140 delegates and speakers to engage in series of sessions on the broader theme of finance, future and diversity.

With a growing body of research showing that more diverse teams and inclusive workplaces directly correlates with stronger business outcomes, the issue of diversity in the finance and investment management industry continues to move up the agenda.

WIFIS 2019 brought together female finance and investment leaders, young professionals and industry partners who are committed to driving diversity in the finance and investment management industry.

The summit involved keynote addresses, personality profiling and a panel discussions. Emphasis was also placed on the importance of diversity at the work place as well as what could be the future role for women in the Finance & Investment management industry.

The Summit gave participants the opportunity to listen to and learn from leading women in the finance industry, network with industry leaders and peers and to build career prospects and opportunities.

According to the CGIA Network Ghana, the Summit host, “this has been our most successful event for the year 2019. We hope to do more in 2020.”

In 2020, Women in Finance & Investment Summit will feature an award session as well.

“We will have in 2020, Women in Finance & Investment Awards as part of the Summit. This award session will be used to recognize and award individual women playing a significant role in the finance & investment industry as well as finance & investment firms who are promoting diversity amongst their team”
