DEC 17, 2019 LISTEN

The Ghana Police has begun investigations into the death of a 6-year-old girl at Dompim in the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipality of the Western Region.

The incident occurred on Friday. There were earlier reports that she was kidnapped by two men.

She was later found in the bush with a deep cut in her throat.

The body has since been deposited at the Apinto Government Hospital for autopsy.

ACP Dennis Abade, who is the Tarkwa Police Commander, said an enquiry into the matter is ongoing.

“When I had information about the murder, I dispatched my officers to the area. But before that, the local police had taken the body of the deceased to the morgue for preservation. As to who perpetrated the crime, we do not know immediately. We do not have any information on the person. But the following day, the town folks suspected the father of the deceased and another old man so they informed the police and they were picked up. Currently, they are under investigation. I have asked my men to go back to the area to do neighbourhood canvassing to enable us to get enough facts for interrogation.”
