Aftermarth Sex Scandal At Islamic Institution

In the aftermarth of the sexual abuse at the Islamic institution, the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS)last week repatriated the Sudanese Director , Mr. Farah Mohammed Ismael at the Mercy Social Centre at Ashaley Botwe,a suburb of Accra,The Sun.

Official sources said part of the repatriation of Farah Mohammed from the country has to do with the exposure by The Sun paper about the Sudanese amorous outgoings with school kids and the recommendations by the Tema Metropolitan directorate of the Ghana Education Services (GES) investigative team into Mercy Centre affairs that the director be transfered from Ghana.

The sources hinted the paper that the screw that seem to have broken the camel's back was the Sudanese director's illegal operations in the country since his arrival last May, 2005.

The Sun gathered that following a tip-off, GIS about two weeks ago stormed Farah's residence at Mercy Centre where a certain Yakubu, a Sudanese illegal immigrant was busted who was being accommodated by the director. Before the operation by the GIS, the paper gathered that apart from Farah's questionable movements with school girls he was also accommodating some illegal Sudanese immigrants at his residnce.

The sources hinted the paper that with the help of some 'big men' at Madina who have links with some powerful politicians Farrah was assured of his security and continued stay in the country despite his questionable operations. “The very day that the GIS staged a swoop in his house some of his supporters at Madina were seen around to intervene,” The Sun heard.

However all efforts to get GIS, to comment on the issue proved futile. At the enforcement Unit of the GIS at the Ministry, the Sun was referred to the headoffice but the the PRO at the Headquarters refused to talk to this reporter after long waiting at the reception.

It would be recalled that, the authoritative Sun recently published the recommendations of the Tema Municipal Directorate of GES which directed the removal of Farah among other things and the petition by Western Regional Widows Association who have their wards attending school at Mercy Centre. The widows in their petition called for the removal of Farah as the director of the center for fear of the future of their wards.

According to the widows during the re-opening of school this term at least 14 orphans refused to report to school for fear that they may be seduced by Farah. Meanwhile the Sun has learnt that the Ministry of Education and Sports was also making frantic effort to formally declare Farah persona non-grata in the country.

The paper gathered that before the departure of Farah, African Muslims Agency based in Kuwait last two weeks also dispatched a new director to take over the affairs of the directorship from Farah following the Sun's story.
