When Ghanaian radio/tv/event personality host Cookie Tee, known in real life as Shirley E. F. Tibilla took some time off to holiday in America. She chose to have Oral Ofori of TheAfricanDream LLC arrange her tour of the Voice of America (VOA) studios in Washington DC during which she also interacted with some staff members on December 8, 2019.

Cookie Tee told TheAfricanDream.net that her holiday from Ghana was to give her time off a stressful period of working on Radio and Television during the year to enable her to regain and refresh herself for activities in Ghana that will herald 2020.

For now, Cookie is booked and confirmed as red-carpet host for top Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie’s Rapperholic concert slated this Christmas day this year. 2019 marks the 7th year of Rapperholic, an annual concert arguably the biggest attended in Ghana by Sarkodie who picked up BET’s best International Flow Award this year. “This year’s will be crazy because we have surprise foreign acts performing live on stage,” said Cookie about this year’s edition of Rapperholic themed RAPPERHOLIC UNSTOPPABLE.

It’s also the Year of Return — a commemoration of the 400th year mark since the first Africans were forcibly removed from the continent and shipped via Ghana to the Americas to be sold as slaves — and activities for December would be quite overwhelming, this trip will help me prepare for the final push as I hang out with family and friends and learn new things to get inspiration for my gigs in Ghana,” Cookie Tee said to TheAfricanDream.net during her early December visit to the VOA headquarters.

Thanks so much to TheAfricanDream LLC, I’ve learned a few new amazing things that I can bring to bear on Ghana especially with my work on TV and radio. I also loved my amazing interview opportunity with Douglas Mpuga on the ‘Nightline Africa’ show on VOA. However, running into one of VOA’s broadcast legends and on-air personality Dr. Shaka Ssali of ‘Straight Talk Africa’ which has aired to a global audience for two straight decades was the cherry on the cake for me,” an excited Cookie Tee explained.

TheAfricanDream.net is the website for TheAfricanDream LLC, a consultancy information and communications firm based in the Washington DC metro area that been responsible for organizing media tours over the years for Ghanaian celebrities and personalities visiting the US. Recent among their clientele include Kojo Antwi the maestro musician, the legendary highlife act Gyedu-blay Ambolley, the ‘Iron Boy’ Amakye Dede, the multi-award-winning actor-comedian Clemento Suarez, and current IBF world champion boxer Richard Commey, among others.

According to Cookie, she flies back to Ghana this week and jumps straight to work the following day at 2 PM with shows scheduled for her radio and TV programs respectively on Starr and GHone TV where she hosts ‘Tales from the Powder Room,’ a relationship program which discuss everything marriage and relationships.
