Amidu Is Not Trusted Person, He Lacks Credibility – Namoale
09.12.2019 LISTEN

Former MP for the La Dadekotopon constituency, Nii-Amasah Namoale has asked Mr. Martin Amidu to exercise self-control in executing his duties as truly independent.

He said the Special Prosecutor, Mr. Amidu lacks credibility as Special Prosecutor.

“The Special Prosecutor has powers to execute his duties effectively so why is he complaining,I don’t trust him any more because he lacks credibility,” Nii-Amasah Namoale told Kwaku Dawuro on ‘Pae Mu Ka’ on Kingdom FM 107.7.

According to him, after Amidu's appointment as Special Prosecutor, no work has been executed by his office, though he draws huge salaries from the public purse.

He added that the Special Prosecutor is behaving as if he does not know or understand his office duties and thus lamenting unnecessarily.

Namoale indicated that Ghanaians are gradually losing faith in the citizen vigilante who many thought should by now have prosecuted a number of cases within his period of appointment.

He stated emphatically it is practically impossible for him to execute his mandate as Special Prosecutor if the friction between his outfit and the appointees of President Akufo-Addo coorperate with him.

Background

President Akufo-Addo gave a Presidential Assent to the Office of Special Prosecutor Bill and four other bills key on the agenda of his administration.

The President noted that the establishment of the Office of Special Prosecutor was an important step in the government’s determination to root out corruption from public offices.

Many have hailed the appointment noting that the self-styled citizen vigilante’s credibility as far as the position is concerned, is unquestionable.
