GPAN Pan African Politics Director Opoku Donyina receives threats of arrest after using his resources to renovate a road in bad shape.

The road which links Dromankese to Busunya in the Nkoranza North District is in a bad state to the extend which has made it very dangerous for human use.

During the raining season, it became very difficult for people travel on this road.

This has become the plight of the people within Dromankese and it's environment.

Looking at this, he tried and mobilized the youth in Dromankese and supported them with his little resources to fetch gravels to fill those dangerous potholes which have upgraded to become manholes.

Due to the limited resources, he couldn't complete the filling and he decided to stop the renovation exercise so as to gather some funds to continue later.

Just about three days ago,when he was traveling and saw a very sad development in the road which triggered him to release an audio reprimanding the District Assembly, the MP, the Chief and the Assembly members for neglecting the road yet they have been allocated with resources to carry out development in the district.

He lamented that these leaders yearn for political positions for power enjoyment and are least interested in issues that affect the ordinary masses.

Surprisingly after demanding accountability from these leaders through an audio release which was on the 3rd December 2019,they jointly reported him to the police and now ganging up for his arrest.

Since then the police have been harassing him which is an infringement on his political and democratical rights.

As a citizen and a native of his community, he has the right to contribute to the development of his community and the nation at large and stands equally to enjoy the right of speaking against wastage of public resources while neglecting critical areas that need attention.
