The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Kwahu East, Hon Isaac Agyapong has said that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government will continue to prioritize and support agriculture to make the sector one of the most viable driving forces of Ghana’s economic development and transformation.
According to him, President Akufo Addo’s government will continue to support agriculture through planting for food and jobs and hence will continue the supply of fertilizers, seeds and other inputs.
He said the government will recruitment more extension officers and provide them with 13 motorbikes in order to visit farmers on a regular basis in the Kwahu East district.
Hon. Isaac Agyapong gave all these assurances during the Farmers Day celebration On Friday, December 6, 2019, at Kwahu Bukuruwa.
He further expressed his appreciation to farmers and fisherfolk for their hard work and dedication to the cause of building Ghana over the period.
Advising the farmers, Hon. Agyapong called on all of them to build on their success in 2019 to guide them to greater heights in the coming years.
In addition, the hard-working DCE urged the district dwellers and Ghanaians to support farmers by consuming their produce.
