Appointment Committee Worried Over Delay In New Judges CVs

Members of the Appointment Committee of Parliament have expressed their displeasure over the delay of the Curriculum Vitae (CV’s) of Judges nominated to the Supreme Court by the President.

The Minority Chief Whip and MP for Asawase, Muntaka Mubarak describe the delay as unfortunate and regrettable.

According to him, this is affecting the work of members of the Committee who want to dig more about the Judges nominated by President Akufo-Addo.

President Akufo Addo made three appointments to the Supreme Court subject to the approval of Parliament.

The three, Justice Mariama Owusu, Justice Lovelace Johnson and Justice Getrude Tokornoo have been elevated to the apex court bench from the Court of Appeal.

They have been appointed to replace three justices who are on retirement or are due for retirement by the end of the year namely, Justice Vida Akoto-Bamfo, Justice Sophia Adinyira and Chief Justice Sophia Akuffo.
