I wasn’t surprised to read: “Retiring CJ, Sophia Akuffo wants high standards in the legal profession maintained,” on ModernGhana news site, knowing perfectly well that the judiciary system in Ghana under this woman was a complete failure.

Leadership as a management function is a deliberate process of influencing teams, subordinates to perform specifically defined tasks.

As a matter of fact, the judiciary system in Ghana has never been effective because most of the judges are deep-rooted corrupt.

This is one of the reasons many high officials in the country involved in corruption scandals that suppose to be in prison, assuming Ghana is a developed country, are now enjoying impunity.

Sophia Akuffo failed to acknowledge the fact that under the leadership, the organizational function of management, consists of managing people to ensure the effectiveness of the judiciary system depends on her.

Madam Sophia Akuffo failed to understand that leaders are persons who lead the appropriate team, directing and coordinating the work of the entire management apparatus or its individual units, as well as monitoring and regulating the activities of the team in fulfilling tasks and achieving goals.

Madam Sophia Akuffo lost her vision to understand that the leadership function in management is implemented by the head, therefore, they make decisions around a range of problems.

According to the publication, the Chief Justice says she will continue to advocate for high standards within the legal profession even after her retirement from the bench.

Madam Sophia Akuffo, during your tenure, you worsened the already ruined state of Ghana's judiciary system, therefore, what are going to offer them after your retirement?

Madam Sophia Akuffo, a leader is a key link in the personnel system, based on the apparatus, the leader directs the activities of the entire organization team.

During your tenure, you allowed all high-level Ghanaian criminals to enjoy impunity, while your subordinates jailed only goat and chicken thieves. Do you expect me to miss you after retirement?

I will only pray and hope those who are coming after you will not follow your corruptible inefficiency, to make Ghana a better place because a weak judiciary system also affects a country’s economy.
