A group calling itself, Save The Nation For Future Leaders (STNFL) has petitioned the Speaker of Parliament, Rt Rev Aaron Mike Ocquye to push for the legalisation of 'wee' known as marijuana.

Speaking to the media in Parliament, Mr Apeakorang noted that the rampant arrest of marijuana dealers in the country by the security agencies is disincentive to the nation.

He said the government should adopt the wee concept into the planting for food and jobs program under the supervision of the military for export to generate foreign income for the nation.

According to the group leader, the growing and export of the wee as a commodity will reduce and save the nation from excessive borrowing.

"Growing of cocoa takes four years to mature as against marijuana which takes three months to mature. We want the President to help stop the destruction of wee farms and encourage its exportation to earn the nation hard currency for the nation's development," Mr Apeakorang intimated.

He stressed that the legalisation will provide jobs for the teeming unemployed youth in the country and save the nation from incurring huge debts from borrowing.
