" I can say with authority that His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo led NPP Government has performed far better than any President of the Republic of Ghana in the record space of Three (3) years thus putting faith in Ghanaians" said Deputy Central Regional Minister, Hon. Thomas Adjei Baffoe

Speaking at a Forum organized by the Agona West Municipal Assembly as part of the ongoing Meet the Press Forum at Agona Swedru recently, the Deputy Central Regional Minister was highly hopeful that Ghanaians will vote massively for Nana Addo and NPP come 2020 General Elections

" Am highly impressed by the brilliant performance of the Agona West Municipal Assembly within three years of His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo led NPP Government's Administration.

These achievements which cut across all the Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies in the country is as a results of prudent measures and policies that have been put in place to improve the lives of the people.

It is an opened secret that President Akufo Addo has fulfilled almost all his campaign promises within three years. No President was able to fulfilled such promises within their first tenure of office.

Today, Ghanaians can count a number of his fulfilled campaign promises. Free SHS, Planting for Food and Jobs, One District One Factory programme, Planting for Export and Rural Development, job creation such as Nation Builders Corp (NABCO), Youth In Aforestation, Youth In Sports, Community Police Assistant, One Million Dollar per constituency, One Village One Dam as well as numerous infrastructure developments"

The Deputy Minister called on the Agona West Municipal Assembly to ensure that accounting to the people forum reaches every community in the Municipality so they can better understand programmes and activities of the Central Government through the Assembly which are meant to improve their standard of living

Hon. Thomas Adjei Baffoe encouraged participants to the forum to be ambassadors of what they have witnessed adding the evidence based projects shown to them must be shared with their neighbours .

" I want this good news to reach our homes, market centers, churches, lorry stations, schools and every available space in the Agona West Municipality"

Touching on various developmental projects the Assembly has undertaken within three years of His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo led NPP Government, the Agona West Municipal Chief Executive Hon. Mrs. Justina Marigold Assan said various units of classroom blocks have been Completed while others were ongoing in the Municipality

She named communities like Afumkwaa, Abigyakrom, Nkum, Abodom, Kwaman, Amponsah, Nyamendam, Swedru SDA, Nyakrom Methodist A & B, Swedru Salvation Army School, Nyakrom Holy Quran and Nkranfo which have benefited from completed classroom blocks to enhance effective teaching and learning.

The Agona West Municipal Chief Executive further stated that a Girl's Dormitory at Nyakrom Senior High and Technical School has also been completed and commissioned.

" I want to State that 1no. 4-unit classroom block at Nyakrom Roman Catholic Basic School has been completed. A dormitory block for Sidiqq Senior High at Nyakrom as well as the K. G block at Kwaman and Oteiprow are ongoing.

Additionallly, construction of 5 No. 6-unit classroom blocks have been awarded on contract and are to be constructed at Ahamadonko, AWMA Basic School, Nyakrom SDA School, Swedru Salvation Army School for the Deaf, Swedru Ahmadiyya Basic and Kukurantumi Basic School among others

A permanent place has been secured for Agona Swedru Girl's Model Junior High School. The Assembly together with Guraba Hands Charity, a Non-Governmental Organization ( NGO) based in the United States of America donated School uniforms, school bags, pair of shoes and stationary to 21 needy but brilliant girls in the Agona West Municipality

The Assembly has and will continue to provide financial assistance to needy but brilliant students. Through decentralization of Scholarship Secretariat, a total of 57 students from the Municipality have been awarded scholarship

With regards to health facilitties, 1 No. Health center and nurse's quarters has been completed and is in use at Otabilkrom

CHPs Compound have been completed at Odom, Mansokwaa, Armah, Amponsah and Ahamadonko whilst that of Bosompa is near completion" the MCE noted.

On Planting for Food and Jobs the MCE stated that a Total of 12,500 farmers have been enrolled onto the programme. The Assembly has also distributed 50,000 Oil Palm Seedlings to registered farmers "

On Water and Sanitation, Hon Mrs Justina Marigold Assan noted that with the support of NGOs such as Qatar Charity Against Poverty and Drinking For Life, the Assembly has sunk over Forty (40) boreholes in Ahamandonko, Nsuansa, Okyerekwaa, Oteiprow, Nyamendam, Amponsah, Samuel, Nkranfo, Bosompa, Ekumasi and Ekukoli among other communities.

" The Assembly is working assiduously to eradicate open defecation in Agona West Municipality. In this aspect, public education has been intensified on Community Led Total Sanitation ( CLTS) programme with support from UNICEF and World Bank

This programme is aimed at sensitizing the public against Open Defecation as well as to support households to construct their toilet facilities. So far, the Assembly has distributed over 600 simplified toilet facilities known as Digni-loos that it received from Community Water and Sanitation Agency. We have made a request for 1,200 more of the Digni-loos

The Assembly had supported construction of these toilet facilities by providing cement and roofing sheets. To further demonstrate our commitment to Open Defecation Free, three (3) motorbikes have been procured for the Environmental Health Unit to aid their work

Public sensitization to on personal hygiene is being intensified in the communities "

The Agona West Municipal Chief Executive also disclosed that to further enhance economic activities in the Municipality, 1No. Storey 30 lockable stores as well as 2No. Open shed and 10 unit lockable stores have been completed and were being used at the PWD yard and Mandela Market respectively.
