The Introduction Of Park Agrotech Ghana Ltd As Strategic Investor To Take Over The Komenda Sugar Factory Is A Hoax

My attention has been drawn to a news item published today at 05:11:02: am by www.myjoyonline.com that seeks to suggest that on Tuesday officials of the Trade Ministry and PwC introduced the investor to the community and officially handed over the facility to the investor.

I want to state without any equivocation that the so-called official handing over was a hoax and we must treat it as a deliberate attempt by the government to blindfold Ghanaians. I am putting it on record that currently, Park Agrotech Ghana Ltd has no contract with the Government of Ghana.

PwC should tell us when did they advertise the bid in which Park Agrotech Ghana Ltd was selected. PwC did not publish any advert as they did in August 2016. What necessitated their decision not to publish the opening of tender?

Nana Kojo Kru II, The Paramount Chief of Komenda Traditional Area granted an interview to Kwame Dapaah Asare of Kingdom Fm in Cape Coast this morning and in his submission, he could not tell the interviewer when the investor is coming to site to commence work. Why did the government representatives refuse to indicate to the chief when the work commences? That is a clear indication of how deceptive the government officials are.

They rushed to hold that event due to a pending demonstration on the 10th December 2019, thinking it would deter the demonstrators from venting their anger on the government for lack of political will to operationalise the factory.

Ghanaians must be interested to know how much are they selling the factory? I am reliably informed that the Park Agrotech Ghana Ltd wants the factory to be leased to them for fifteen years period but the government is reluctant due to some fishy deals on the part of the government. Due to this, they have not signed any agreement yet.

As at the time they went to do the so-called official handing over, the Parliament Select Committee on Trade, Industry, and Tourism was not aware of such event. It came as a surprise to members of the committee when the event was reported.

I would like to reiterate the point that, the official handing over was a complete hoax.
