Anhwiaso (Ash), March 20, GNA - Baffour Aboagye Agyeman II, the Krontihene of Fomena Divisional Area, has instituted a scholarship scheme for brilliant but needy students in the Adansi-Anhwiaso area to help them to pursue their senior secondary education. For a start two students, Evans Amoo Quansah of Darmang Secondary School at Swedru and Dorothy Owusu of Victory High School in Kumasi, have each been given one million cedis for the current academic year. Speaking at the presentation ceremony Nana Aboagye Agyeman said the scheme was his initiative.

"I had difficulty in my education. When I passed for Achimota School there was nobody to assist me to go so I had to pass through the training college to become what I am today", he said. Nana Aboagye Agyeman, who is now a legal practitioner based in Accra, said each beneficiary student would enjoy the scheme for four years and that a minimum of two to three students would benefit each year.

He gave the assurance that the scholarship scheme would continue so long as he remained the traditional authority in the area. Nana Aboagye Agyeman advised the students to let the scheme motivate them to study hard to attain greater academic heights.
