He said one of the problems bedevilling the Manhean Electoral Area (which includes Joman, Oduman, Manhean and Afuaman) is high youth unemployment.

In this regard, he gave the assurance that when voted to become the Assembly member, he will liaise with non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and civil society groups (CSOs)—both within and outside the area—to help deal with the situation.

In an interview with Weekend Today, Nii Aryee Aryeetey said, if elected, he would also work closely with the municipal assembly to bring developmental projects to the Manhean Electoral Area.

He said he would also continue to mobilise the youth to participate in sporting activities and champion development.

He bemoaned the fact that commuters in the area have been made to bear the brunt of the deplorable Ablekuma Curve-Manhean-Afuaman and Ablekuma-Joman roads.

“When I am voted as the Assembly member of Manhean Electoral Area, I would lobby to get the Ablekuma Curve-Afuaman and Ablekuma Curve-Joman roads fixed,” Nii Aryee Aryeetey promised.

According to him, he would consult opinion leaders, former assembly members in the area for ideas and advice in other to deliver to improve the wellbeing of his constituents.

Running with the slogan: “Hard working, Commitment and Vision,” Nii Aryee Aryeetey, who sounded upbeat of winning the contest, assured that he would ensure that communities that fall within the Manhean Electoral Area benefit from access roads, good drainage system, and equally help resolve other challenges.

He told Weekend Today that he entered into politics in 2004, adding that he has since then served in various capacities, especially at the local level.

“I was elected a Unit Committee member in 2010 and 2015 respectively. And during my tenures as a unit committee member, I contributed my quota towards lifting the image of Manhean Electoral Area,” he noted.

In the year 2017, Nii Aryee Aryeetey revealed that he helped form a watchdog committee with the aim of preventing criminal activities in Manhean.

Even before his candidature, Weekend Today learnt that Nii Aryee Aryeetey recently managed to lobby road construction firm--Construction Pioneer (CP)—who brought loads of concrete sand to fill the deep and wide potholes on the Ablekuma Curve-Manhean-Afuaman road.

“Additionally, I also single-handedly fuelled a grader to grade part of the Manhean/Oduman road,” he told this reporter.

However, he intimated that it was not easy convincing CP to bring concrete dust to fill those life-threatening potholes, especially at the Oduman Junction.

“I have also supported in fixing streetlights in several places in various communities within my electoral area,” Nii Aryee Aryeetey disclosed.
