Information available to this portal reveals that Dr John Kingsley Krugu (popularly known as JK) is putting himself up for the NPP primaries in the Zebilla constituency come April 2020.

It must be stated that Dr Krugu is regarded as a formidable member of the NPP, having served as the first General Secretary of the TESCON on its formation in 1999. He subsequently became the second TESCON President in the year 2000 and inspired tertiary students in Ghana enormously in terms of voting for the NPP in elections 2000 and in all subsequent elections.

Dr John Krugu was appointed as a Deputy National Organiser of the NPP in 2010 by the NPP. He performed his duties creditably to the admiration of all thereby winning many admirers in the NPP.

The Aspiring Parliamentary Candidate once served as the Upper East Regional Communications officer of the NPP in 2004 and has been a Patron for the NPP in the Zebilla constituency since 2008.

It must be added that Dr Krugu was an active member of the NPP in the Zebilla constituency in the 2016 elections and even before. He worked tirelessly towards the victory of the NPP in the constituency at the Parliamentary level in the last election.

Dr John Krugu holds a PhD in Public Health and has worked for various local and international agencies over the years. He is a passionate public health and human rights advocate, with significant public policy advocacy experiences at the local, national and international platforms, including the Human Rights Council events in Geneva.

He is also the founder of Youth Harvest Foundation Ghana (YHFG) - http://www.yhfg.org/. As a youth development advocate, his vision, leadership and management has brought the YHFG to a nationally-recognised development player in Ghana.

When the reporter reached out to Dr John Kingsley Krugu on the above subject, following a suggestive post on his facebook page, he stated that some NPP faithful in the Zebilla constituency had indeed approached him to contest the seat.

He added that he is yet to confer with the sitting MP and the constituency executives on the matter before he will respond to the various calls on him to contest the Parliamentary Primaries of the NPP. He said he will communicate his decision in due course.
