Sachet Water Factory Is Something Worth Writing Home About
17.11.2019 LISTEN

He cannot be taken seriously by any measure of responsible leadership. He is reported to have just registered a political party by the name of the Ghana Union Movement (GUM), very likely in flagrant violation of the constitutional stipulation of the Separation of the Church/Religion from the State. So, at best, the Rev. Christian Kwabena Andrew may be in dire need of psychiatric examination and prompt treatment, rather than scandalously presuming that he has what it really takes to move Ghana a notch higher up the development ladder than where it is presently (See “I Supported Akufo-Addo in 2016 but Want Him Out – GUM Founder” Modernghana.com 10/19/19). To better psychologically and cognitively size him up, maybe we need to ask Mr. Andrews which candidate he voted for in the 2012 Presidential Election, and then we could accurately confirm the fact that this patent con-artist is incontrovertibly a mental and psychological basket case.

He says that the then-Candidate Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, in the runup to the 2016 Presidential Election, promised to establish a pineapple-processing factory at Ekumfi, in the Central Region, the very ancestral moorings of the late President John Evans Atta-Mills, but has only been able to establish a sachet-water-producing factory, and not a pineapple-processing factory or plant. What chutzpah! Now, let Mr. Andrews tell us how many factories the late President Atta-Mills established among his own people at Ekumfi in the nearly 8 years that he served at the Presidency, 4 years as the right-hand man of former President Jerry John Rawlings, and another three-and-half years as the substantive President of the Sovereign Democratic Republic of Ghana and the Commander-in-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces.

The fact of the matter is that the establishment of a sachet-water-production plant at Ekumfi, in the Central Region, the ancestral township of the late President Mills, is far better and more economically productive than zilch, or absolutely nothing, which is what the former University of Ghana’s tax-law professor established in his own hometown. Which also indisputably confirms the immediate and imperative need for Mr. Christian Kwabena Andrews to seek psychiatric examination. At least the sachet-water-producing factory established by Nana Akufo-Addo or the latter’s policy initiative at Ekumfi has created a handful of jobs for the people in that township, whereas their own native son produced absolutely nothing for his own people.

The preceding display of behavioral savagery is what the Akan-speaking majority populace of Ghana call “ingratitude.” But, perhaps, what is even more significant to underscore here is the fact that Mr. Andrews does not seem to be intelligent enough to have first enquired of the government official in charge of industrial development, just why a sachet-water-production plant was established at Ekumfi, and not the pineapple-processing plant/factory that the then-Candidate Akufo-Addo had promised while on the stumps or his presidential electioneering campaign in 2016. It is almost quite certain that the problem may very well have something to do with adequate supply of commercial-grade pineapples, or some such equally significant production problem. The preceding notwithstanding, if, indeed, the establishment of a sachet-water-producing plant at Ekumfi does not qualify to be classified under the government’s One District, One Factory industrial development program, let the self-glorifying critic look into the eyes of the members of his own congregation or church members and tell them what he supposes the Ekumfi Sachet-Water Factory to be about.

Then, again, precisely what is preventing the owner of the so-called Fire-TV Station from building some of the factories that he thinks or believes the people of Ekumfi and other parts of the country really need? You see, it is self-serving charlatans like Mr. Andrews who are making it extremely difficult for any dedicated, progressive, visionary and well-meaning leader to move the country remarkably ahead on the human-development ladder. It also bears noting that as of this press preparation (11/16/19), Mr. Andrew was reported to have retracted his abjectly false propaganda guff, after he was threatened with a lawsuit by the Managerial Staff of the Ekumfi factory so viciously and maliciously maligned.
