Ghana Building Code: Non compliant engineers to be sanctioned by MMDAs

The Ghana Building code is a document which outlines the various requirements of all structures both residential and non-residential.

The system is to replace the previous era where the absence of standards led to the construction and use of structures in an unregulated manner.

Speaking to Citi Business News at a recent engagement with the various Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies, the Director-General of the Ghana Standards Authority, Prof. Alex Dodoo, said the sanctions will be necessary to ensure compliance.
