Former Minister of Information, Chief Alexander Akinyele, is dead.
He was aged 81 years.
His death was announced by one of his sons, Constantine Akinfolarin Akinyele.
According to him, Akinyele passed away on Thursday after a brief illness.
Akinyele, a trained public relations specialist, was a former president of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations.
He also served as chairman of the Nigerian Sports Commission.
Akinyele was born on April 24, 1938.
