Addressing the chiefs and elders, Mr. Kofi Agyemang Duah of GSS Accra stated that the team called on the chiefs to seek their consent and support to carry out the trial exercise in their jurisdiction.

He assured them of the confidentiality of whatever information that would be given the enumerators.

Both chiefs, Obrempong Kanya and Dasebre Bonja expressed worries that the statistical service have not recruited many enumerators from the area but gave people from other districts and regions the nod. They also mentioned language barrier as a factor that might mitigate against the smooth flow of the exercise since most of the enumerators are coming from other regions and can not speak their local dialect (Nchumuru)

The Oti Regional Statistician Mr. Henry Loglo explained that the recruitment process was done online via the statistical service portal hence no individual from the service recruited trainees.

He emphasized that 64 applicants from the district applied and they have been recruited.

He added that interested, qualified and capable applicants can still apply via the website ahead of the 2020 national population and housing census.

Mr. Duah assured the chiefs of sanity in the recruitment and training system and promised to report to national office the concerns of the chiefs.
