2019 Batch Of Asunafo South Abroad Scholarship Program In China

The 2019 batch of the Asunafo South Abroad Scholarship Programme numbering seven who got selected for the China PHD and Masters scholarship after their application for the Asunafo South Abroad Scholarship, arrived in China on 12th September, 2019 to kick start their respective programs.

They applied in March, 2019, received their admission letters in August, 2019 and left Ghana in September, 2019.

Five (5) of them gained admissions to take their studies in the Shandong University of Science and Technology, (SDUST) in the Shandong Province on a full scholarship which includes free accommodation, free tuition and monthly allowance for the respective three (3) years (Masters) and four (4) years (Doctoral/PhD) programs.

They are Danso Samuel Yaw (Doctoral degree in Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing), Gyasi Poku (Doctoral degree in New Energy Control and Energy Saving Technology), Akanyange Stephen Nyabire (Master’s degree in Environmental Science), Akwaa Godfred Fenteng (Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering) and Quarshie Samuel De-Graft (Master’s degree in Environmental Science).

Cyril Godwin Suetor also gained admission to pursue a Master's degree in Safety Science and Engineering at Nanjing Tech University on a partial scholarship which covers tuition fee and monthly allowance while the seventh person; Deladem Amenowode also gained an offer to pursue a Master's in Business Administration (MBA) at Shijiazhuang Tiedao University on a partial scholarship which covers only Tuition fees.

They are all currently in China, have started their classes successfully at their respective universities and are enjoying their scholarship packages fully as promised them.

History About The Asunafo South Abroad Scholarship Program

The Asunafo South District is one of the districts of the Ahafo Region of Ghana. Its capital is Kukuom. Asunafo South district was split off from the former Asunafo District (currently called Asunafo North District) on November 12, 2003. Asunafo South District through Dream for all foundation (DFAF) through Moses Antwi; its founder and CEO established its Abroad scholarship Scheme called ‘’Asunafo South Abroad Scholarship Program,’’ in 2017 to encourage and enable bright and promising young students to fulfill their dreams of entering abroad universities with full scholarships. The Grant Coordinator for DFAF is Mr. Kyei Foster. What began so many years ago as a dream of assisting students with educational expenses has become a tradition of giving. The foundation has so far granted scholarships to a number of students to help them with their educational goals.

MOU Between Asunafo South District And SDUST

The International Exchange of Shandong University of Science and Technology, (SDUST), Shandong Province signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Asunafo South District Assembly in April 2017. The MOU was signed on behalf of the District Assembly by Dream for all foundation (DFAF); Asunafo South Abroad Scholarship program through its founder Mr. Moses Antwi popularly known as Nana Moses II.

According to the MOU, SDUST and Asunafo South District will collaborate on creating opportunities for high-achieving and under-served Ghanaian youth to access and succeed in higher education through Engineering and Law courses.
