The Member of Parliament for Manhyia North, Hon. Collins Owusu Amankwah has said the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has no moral right to criticize President Akufo-Addo’s leadership saying "they are behaving like reserve players on the bench."

To him, the NDC, as an opposition party, should rather tell Ghanaians its alternative for the numerous policies and programmes of the Akufo-Addo government, and not the tribal politics it has adopted for its campaign.

Speaking on ‘Pae Mu Ka’ with Kwaku Dawuro on Accra based Kingdom FM 107.7,Collins Owusu Amankwah said, “They should tell us their alternative for Free SHS, Planting for Food and Jobs, the payment of the various allowances and others, NDC and John Mahama are behaving like a reserve player on the bench”.

“We inherited an economy that was in distress, choked by debts and microeconomic fundamentals in disarray,” he added.

According to him, the content of the press conference by the NDC on Tuesday showed clearly that they had nothing to contribute to the competition of ideas and performance.

Hon. Collins Owusu Amankwah has reiterated his government’s commitment to turn around the economy despite inheriting a distressed one.

He stressed that no government has shown better commitment to fighting corruption than the NPP government.

The Manhyia North MP said the economy is not in crisis but only challenged and expressed optimism the government will implement the necessary policies to bring it back on track.
