Danquah Institute Calls On Yaa-Naa

As part of the social responsibility of Danquah Institute, its Executive Director, Richard Ahiagbah has paid a courtey call on the Overlord of Dagbon, Yaa-Naa Abubakar Mahama II at the Gbewaa Palace following a three day working visit in the Region.

According to him, the visit is a great honour to obtain the Yaa-Naa's audience to highlight the shared values of Dagbon and the Danquah Institute.

He said, "The Danquah Institute believes in the leadership of ideas to formulate policies that both build and liberate the energies of the people, especially the youth, for development."

Mr. Ahiagbah added that the Gbewaa Palace is noted for leading with ideas, and called on all in the public policy space as well as politics to emulate the King.

The Dagbon King who was overwhelmed by the visit described Mr. Ahiagbah as a friend of Gbewaa Palace.

Not only did he present a beautiful smock to the Executive Director of the Danquah Institute, Yaa-Naa Abubakar Mahama II take his office to welcome Mr. Ahiagbah any day or times he approached the Palace.

Mr. Ahiagbah also presented a beautifully framed portrait picture of the Yaa-Naa embossed with the Institute's logo.

In related developments, the Institute also paid a visit to the Mion-Lana, Mahamadu Abdulai to celebrate the annual Damba Festival with the Chiefs and people of the area.

The Mion-Lana thanked the team for celebrating the festival with them and promised to work in partnership with the Institute.

The team from the Danquah Institute climaxed their three days visit after making a stop at Savelugu to interact with the Yoo Naa Yakubu Abdulai V.

The Yoo Naa on his part lauded the Danquah Institute on its youth agenda of the government movement which is a founding vision of the Danquah-Dombo-Busia Tradition to liberate the energies of people for the growth of property-owning democracy in Ghana.

He told the Yoo Naa that the youth of Savelugu are beneficiaries of the government's policies for the youths.

The Yoo Naa welcomed the Executive Director's request for continual engagement with the traditional authorities to obtain ideas for policies to harness the energies of the youth for rapid national development.

The Yoo Naa said the government's focus on the youth is a move in the right direction and urged for more support as well as empowerment from the government.

The Executive Director assured the Yoo Naa of liaison with the palace for his input to inform policy formulation.
