Residents of the Bolgatanga Municipality in the Upper East Region have embarked on a demonstration over the deplorable roads in the capital.

Clad in red bands and attire and chanting songs of anger, scores of protestors poured onto the streets of the regional capital on Wednesday to petition the Region’s Minister, Tangoba Abayage to act quickly.

They are demanding that the roads be immediately fixed and road networks in the region improved.

Speaking to Journalists, a protestor said the bad roads were causing miscarriages and causing deaths in the region.

They appealed to the government to heed to their calls to curb the havoc the bad roads in the region are causing.

They added that if the government fails to heed to their plights immediately, they will hit the street again in two-weeks time until their demands are met.
