Fear Grip Ministers

The President, J.A. Kufuor's decision to reshuffle his cabinet for the last time is said to have created panic among many ministers as their fate hand in the balance.

According to sources close to the castle, the reshuffle which has been dubbed 'Castle Tsunami' is expected to come off by the end of this month. They said the decision by the Presiddent to embark on this mammoth exercise is as a result of ineffectiveness on the part of some ministers.

'It is also to enable the President strategize well to ensure that his party, the NPP retains power in 2008, even though his term will end by that time.

In the last few days, names such as I.C. Quaye, Nana Akuffo Addo, S.K. Boafo, Boahene Aidoo, Isaac Edumadze and Ayikoi Otto have come up. According to sources, I.C. Quaye, Boahene Aidoo, S.K. Boafo and Ayikoi Otto are expected to be dropped from the cabinet.

Nana Akuffo Addo would take the position of the majority leader. Isaac Edumadze would be maintained because he is said to be doing well in the region. Prof. Wayo Seini who has just resigned from parliament is also expected to be made a minister of state or an ambassador.
