Accra, March 9, GNA - Come this Saturday, some principal streets of Accra would be filled with agile young people and some older ones not in a demonstration but to partake in the Second Red Bull/YAZZ fitness walk. The walk, originally fixed for Saturday, March 4, has to be rescheduled because of a planned clean-up campaign scheduled for the same day by the Accra Metropolitan Assembly.

The organisers, the Maximum Gym and Fitness Centre told the GNA Sports that all is now set for the 20-kilometre race to kick-start. Nii Amarh Amarteifio, Public Relations Officer of the Gym said Mr Yaw Osafo-Marfo, Minister of Education and Sports and his deputy Mr O. B. Amoah have confirmed to lead a pack of health conscious people for the exercise.

More than 34 organizations including Churches and Keep Fit Clubs in the Metropolis have confirmed their participation. It begins from the Osekan Beach at the High Street in Accra through Adabraka, Kaneshie, Mataheko and then to the Gym at Dansoman. The endurance walk according to Mr Amarteifio, also commemorates Ghana's 49th Independence Day.

It is being sponsored by a host of companies including Red Bull Energy drink, Yazz toothpaste and Soap, Benco Hospitex, Capital 02 and Prospective Marketing.

Registration has begun in earnest at the Gym in Dansoman and it ends by close of work on Friday. A lecture has also been earmarked on the correlation between a good diet and fitness by a prominent resource person at the end of the Walk.
