General News President Akufo-Addo

President Akufo-Addo

The Caucus of Democratic Governance-Ghana (CDG-GH), a civil society group has opined that Ghanaians are crying for change.

In a statement issued and signed by the Chief Convener of CDG-GH, Dr. E.K Hayfod, the group expressed their utmost dissatisfaction and utter disappointment at how President Akufo-Addo is governing this country.

This was observed during a research conducted by the group.

According to the group, the hard won democratic credentials was being diluted with conservative dictatorship under Akufo-Addo-led government.

"Akufo Addo`s Government is extreme Conservative with widespread dictatorial ramifications. Training of militia which was in Bowjiase and later in Osu Castle is now taking place in Asutware. Vigilantism and its terror directed to the people; insecurity and intimidation; kidnapping and reckless killing, torture and brutalizing demonstrators are all suppressive elements of Conservative Dictatorship practiced by dictators like Musolini of Italy, Franco of Spain and Hitler of Germany", the statement explained.

"These were dictators who pushed the world into the second world war. Looking at the “ALL DIE BE DIE” mantra addressed to the youth of Atiwa, by Nana Addo, you do not need to be a prophet to predict possible turbulence in 2020", the statement added.

The group is therefore advising President Akufo-Addo to resign before 2020 general elections.

"The CDG-GH is convinced that a President who allows corruption, is equally corrupt. Nana Addo therefore is corrupt. Corruption, violence, vigilantism, insecurity, indiscriminate killing, kidnapping, inability to create enough jobs, severe hardship among Ghanaians, wrong approach to the banking reform leading to collapse of banks and loss of jobs both in industry and Government sector, are all indices that Nana Addo is in serious leadership crises. CDG-GH will advise him to resign", the statement concluded.

GHANA IS FACING SERIOUS LEADERSHIP CRISES

Ghanaians are crying for a change

INTRODUCTION

The Caucus for Democratic Governance, Ghana (CDG-GH), strongly agrees that Ghana is facing serious leadership crises on the basis of its research and comparative analysis. Research and comparative analysis which took into consideration many issues including the needless brutalization of demonstrating law students recent Ghc 175,000 DEWU bus scandal.

GHANA

Ghana stands at a cross road, seeking to establish its socio-political identity and to chart a sustainable path for socioeconomic development and social progress. In spite of calculated efforts, our country is still languishing in pervasive corruption scandals, with the economic developmental processes still passing through incurable hic-cups. Besides our hard won Democratic credentials, is being diluted with Conservative Dictatorship under Akufo Addo.

ALL DIE BE DIE

Akufo Addo`s Government is extreme Conservative with widespread dictatorial ramifications. Training of militia which was in Bowjiase and later in Osu Castle is now taking place in Asutware. Vigilantism and its terror directed to the people; insecurity and intimidation; kidnapping and reckless killing, torture and brutalizing demonstrators are all suppressive elements of Conservative Dictatorship practiced by dictators like Musolini of Italy, Franco of Spain and Hitler of Germany. These were dictators who pushed the world into the second world war. Looking at the “ALL DIE BE DIE” mantra addressed to the youth of Atiwa, by Nana Addo, you do not need to be a prophet to predict possible turbulence in 2020.

OCCUPY GHANA

In 2017 the Democratic governance process was replaced overnight with “Occupy Ghana” where family, friends, relative and party stalwarts coagulate to rule. Akufo Addo went on to collapse traditional pillars of democratic governance as established under the constitution. In his attempt to consolidate his hold on power, he flooded all positions within the Judiciary, Legislature and the Executive arms of government with his relatives and friends. He has politicized the media, Electoral Commission and many civil organizations to his egoistic interest. By so doing, he has reduced Democratic governance into abject dictatorship. In the event any of his cabals are exposed or found corrupt, he clears them of any wrong doing. All Flagstaff House scandals that have been cleared are on the minds of Ghanaians.

We now find ourselves in a country characterized by leadership crisis, where:

political party-trained militants have become a threat to national security, attacking state security personnel and shooting with impunity ; supported by the Executive and political party machinery, the Attorney General and the Chief Justice like many other appointees, are cousins and relatives of the President and hence in times of National crisis, decisions are taken in family circles; thus obliterating democratic principles.

Cronyism of family and friends is the order of the day, paving way for the Minister of Finance to collapse 420 banks and causing over 700,000 job losses.

Rule of law has become a mere slogan, reversing the gains of our democratic governance, free SHS, after three years, is still struggling with basic logistics and infrastructure and critical financial assessment, thus making the sustainability of the project still uncertain.

Private sector initiative now means killing existing companies and replacing them with companies of cronies.

inability to create jobs has led to sacking current workers and replacing them with family and party friends.

Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) was smuggled into the new curriculum for primary one to six. Lesbianism and homosexuality will therefore be taught in kindergarten without the knowledge of the parents.. CSE books have been printed and teachers have already been trained. This is nothing but mandatory madness.

It is in the face of such a myriad of socio-political and socioeconomic uncertainties and near confusion and madness in governance that Ghanaians are crying for a change, because Ghana is facing leadership crises.

SUFFERING MASSES

The suffering masses now refer to Nana Addo as “clearing agent”, an advocate of unfulfilled promises and a fascist who is oblivious to the suffering and concerns of the people.

Under his Government, fuel prices have severally gone up. The latest increase was 10%. Water bills increased by 2.2%, electricity rates have gone up by 5.94%. Food and commodity prices have gone up, transport prices have gone up. Besides, unplanned and uncoordinated taxation is the order of the day.

Communication taxes have gone up by 9% making life unbearable for the ordinary man on the street. An example of bad leadership.

The bank reforms have left over 50,000 people jobless and over 20,000 associated jobs have been lost.

Unfortunately jobs are not being created, Over the years, with Nana Addo in office, industry has lost over 100,000 jobs and the 600,000 coming out of the school system every year are counting their fingers; hoping for jobs that do not exist. The causal relationship between creation of jobs and the the putting of money inti the pockets of the people to activate trading and energize the economy, has not been understood by Akufo Addo and his voodoo Vice President Dr Bawumia.

CORRUPTION SCANDALS

In spite of the high unemployment rate, the tax payers money is being recklessly managed. Corruption rate is the highest since the days of Dr Nkrumah. That is how bad corruption in Ghana has gone. From Flagstaff House scandals to AMERI contract; from ESLA bonds to Digital Addressing System; from $100,00 seat by the President to the BOST scandal; from China Star Time to Kelni GVG scandal; from Charles Bissue, a presidential staffer`s scandal, to the two Deputy Chief of Staff scandal; from Australian visa scandal to bribes received by Nyantekyie with the president in his pocket; from the corruption scandal by former Managing Director of Maritime University to the fraudulent agreement that led to the selling of ECG to Power Distribution System (PDS); from award of contracts without Procurement review by the CEO of the National Youth Authority (YNA) to Ken Bond. All have been swept under the carpet.

GHANA IS BLEEDING

It will not be possible to list all the 110 corruption scandals for time limitation. The above are enough to illustrate that Ghana is bleeding under Nana Addo. On one hand, the tax revenue is underperforming by 2.4 billion relative to projections; on the other hand, the expenditure is galloping. Akufo Addo has within three years borrowed 108 billion, which is being put into consumption instead of production; yet Dr Bawumia the theoretical economist made us believe that within Ghana is enough money, we would not have to borrow.

CONCLUSION

The CDG-GH is convinced that a President who allows corruption, is equally corrupt. CDG-GH will advise him to resign.
