WR: NPP Chairman Asked To Apologise To Chiefs, Nzema Traditional Council For Calling Them Selfish — NDC Demands

WESTERN REGION NDC COMMUNICATION SECRETARIAT

NPP WESTERN REGIONAL CHAIRMAN SHOULD RETRACT AND APOLOGISE TO THE WESTERN REGIONAL HOUSE OF CHIEFS AND NZEMA TRADITIONAL COUNCIL WITH URGENCY.

Our traditional rulers since independence have played a pivotal role in the developmental process of this great nation.

Before the colonial era our only system of government was through our traditional authorities, and as black Africans who believe in our cultural heritage, we can‘t downplay the efforts our traditional authorities play in all aspects of national development.

It is therefore surprising that the regional chairman of the ruling NPP in the person if Mr NDEDE SIAH will characterize our respected chiefs as SELFISH people who engage with Government for personal interests instead of fighting for region as a whole.

The regional chairman didn't mince words and disrespected our traditional leaders.

We as a party find the comments of Mr NDEDE SIAH insulting and disrespectful to the western regional house of chiefs as a whole.

It will be recalled that the chairman made similarly insulting comments earlier this week when he appeared on Takoradi based empire 102.7fm.

We demand an immediate retraction of the “selfish” tag that he has foisted on our chiefs. This should be followed by an unqualified apology to our traditional rulers.

We are dismayed that such a seasoned politician will join his national chairman Mr BLAY to insult and disrespect our traditional authorities who didn't ascend their thrones by elections or by political appointment.

As a responsible political party, we will urge our colleagues from the other side to respect our traditional authorities and give them the necessary support to foster peace and development in our REGION.
