The Ghana scholarship Secretariat, through the Atwima Mponua District Assembly has given respite to 59 Tertiary students who applied to them for financial assistance to further their education worth Gh 60,869 cedis.
At the gathering, Honorable Williams Darko gave an enthralling account of the stewardship of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on his sterling performance in the education sector.
He stated that “the District Assembly has awarded scholarships to 343 students since 2017, the Member of Parliament Isaac Asiamah has also awarded Scholarships to 287 Tertiary students”.
In addition, he posited that the Fress SHS program is already cushioning parents from hardships and the decentralization of the scholarship scheme will further release parents and guardians from financial encumbrances.
Furthermore, he advised the beneficiaries to make good of this perpetual novelty. “You must make the scholarship be of benefit to the people of Atwima Mponua, Ghana and your parents”, he added.
He entreated all to preach the good tidings they are witnessing or witnessed through the various interventions from the NPP government.
Miss Francisca Antwi Agyei showed appreciation to government, the President, Member of Parliament and the DCE for their assistance and promised to put the assistance into good use.
