A 45-year-old man has committed suicide at Gomoa Budumburam near the Ghana Prison Service yard located in the Central Region.
Confirming the incident to Citi News, the Environmental Officer for Gomoa East District Assembly, Lawrence Ansah Brew explained that he received a distress call from one Eric, that an elderly man had hanged himself after which he quickly rushed to the scene.
“I was there this afternoon when I received a distress call from Eric that an individual had hanged himself on a tree so I went there with the Police and BNI officers to confirm and I can say that it is actually true. So we have deposited the body at the morgue,” the Environmental Officer said.
“The man who hanged himself is about 45 to 50 years and he is light in complexion with grey hair, and wearing a long sleeve shirt with stripes,” he added.
According to him, the identity of the individual who hanged himself is not yet known.
He thus called on the general public to help identify him.
“I want to take this opportunity to appeal to the general public especially those in Kasoa and its environs to help identify this individual. So if your father or brother didn’t come home yesterday kindly come and identify him”, Lawrence Ansah Brew noted.
