The Alliance for Accountable Governance (AFAG) is disturbed at the treatment meted out to the law students who demonstrated in Accra yesterday.
The action by the security forces is not only proper, but a slap in the promotion of the very rights our Constitution bestows on us. The era of using rubber bullets and spraying of water from cannons on demonstrators is long gone.
We are using this medium to condemn in no uncertain terms, the action by the Police and call for an immediate investigation.
We urge the Ministry of interior and the Police administration, to suspend all commanding officers on duty, pending the outcome of the investigation.
