Sunyani Coronation Park was expected to be ready by February 28 for Berekum Arsenal's confederations cup campaign but when Space FM visited the park on Wednesday there was little indication the park will be ready before Arsenal's first home match

Confederation of African Football in January sent its member Bola Ji Ojo Oba to come and inspect facilities at the Coronation Park where Berekum Arsenal has chosen as venue for their home matches in the CAF Confederations Cup.

During that visit Bola Ji Ojo Oba said the park was not in good shape to host a competition like CAF Confederations Cup. He said for Arsenal to use the park they had to build dressing rooms with wash rooms, air conditioners and other relevant facilities. He also tasked them to provide new Score Board, Press Box and re-grass the pitch before his next visit scheduled for March15.

Hon. Deputy regional minister Ignatius Baffour Awuah who was part of the team that led Bola Ji Ojo Oba to inspect the facilities assured Bola that the work will be completed by February 28.

However, when Space FM visited the park this morning we realized that about sixty percent of the work is yet to be done. Dressing rooms are yet to be roofed, work on the press box has just started. The scoreboard is not ready and just a little have been done about the pitch leaving many people in doubt as whether Arsenal can play their matches here or not.

According to the Contractor working on the press box the work is expected to be completed in the 3rd week of March whiles Bola will be coming by March 15. The contractor working on the dressing rooms also has promised to roof the rooms by the close of this week.

It remains to be seen whether these Contractors will finish work on schedule to pave way for a succesful Confedration Cup campaing.
