Re: The Alleged Defection Of Some NDC Members In The Bunkpurugu Constituency.

The attention of the leadership of the NDC in the Bunkpurugu Constituency has been drawn to a publication by the North East Regional NPP Secretary, *Lawyer Sulley Sambian,* on some social media platforms where he sought to peddle untruths about the NDC membership in the constituency (Alleged defection of some members of the NDC to the NPP).

Hence, the leadership of the NDC in the constituency wants to set the records straight about how the NPP deceived women under the pretext of assisting them to access loans from the NPP. In fact, it is instructive to note that on the faithful day, these unsuspecting women were bused from Nakpanduri to Nalerigu to be given loans only to have ended up being coaxed to tell the whole world that they had defected to the NPP as a condition precedent to securing loans from the NPP. Interestingly, however, these women were each given *GHS20.00 (Twenty Ghana Cedis Only)* with a promise of being given loans the next day.

A furthermore disturbing revelation is the fact that as corruption happens to be the bane of NPP, subsequently, these poor women were now asked to pay *GHS50.00 (Fifty Ghana Cedis)* each as processing fee for the said loans, but ladies and gentlemen, this whole idea of giving these selected women loans was as usual, one of the NPP's scams as the women have not received these loans till date even though they were promised to be given the money the next day after the alleged declaration of defection to the NPP. It is obviously sad to state that on top the harsh economic conditions in the area, these poor women have been duped by this scandalous and gross incompetent NPP government through its party executives who desperately broke the news of the alleged defection in order to court public attention and apparently so because, *Madam Habiba Bandim*, the leader of the women who spoke in the video footage published by the NPP's regional executives happens to be the stepmother of the Bunkpurugu Constituency NDC Parliamentary Candidate, Hon. *Abednego Bandim* Thus, we in the NDC want to state that we find the conduct of the NPP to be criminal, ridiculous, malicious, mischievous and an attempt by the NPP to divert the attention of the constituents from the abysmal performance and the failed campaign promises of the NPP government in the constituency.

Therefore, we wish to use this medium to assure and/or, to advise all NDC party faithfuls and the general public to discard and to treat with the greatest contempt that it deserves, the antics, propaganda and the deliberate attempt by the NPP to divert the attention of the constituents from the heightened level of insecurity, failed campaign promises and the excruciating economic conditions being experienced by the good people of this country, especially the good people of the Bunkpurugu Constituency. We further want to encourage all NDC members to remain focused and resilient in the pursuit of the transformational agenda of the NDC party in the constituency. Please the video footage attacked is a testament of the poor women, one of who narrated their ordeal to the NDC North East Regional Women Organizer when she visited in conjunction with constituency executives to ascertain the veracity of the allegation.
