The Ghana Association of the Capital District of New York State, Inc. will hold its Sixth Ghana's Independence Day Dinner/Dance on March 4, 2006 in Albany, NY, the capital of New York State. The theme for the celebration for this year is:
Equal Protection Under The Law: The Impact on The Immigrant. The Keynote speaker is the Director of the Governor's Citizenship Unit, Ms. Luz Alvarez-Salazar.
The celebration will showcase Ghanaian culture, dance and cuisine. Supporting groups for the celebration include the Ghana Committee of the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Albany and the Africana Studies Department of the University at Albany.
The function runs from 8:00 pm to 2:00 am at the AFLCIO Labor Temple, 890 Third Street, Albany, New York
