Hohoe, Feb. 22, GNA - Ms Annie-Laure Solnon, a Co-operation Attach=E9 at the French Embassy in Accra, on Tuesday said Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) demonstrating transparency and tenacity of purpose would continue to receive support from the Embassy. She called on 26 NGOs receiving financial assistance from the Embassy to justify the trust reposed in them.

Ms Solnon, who is also in charge of Civil Society and Local Development, was speaking to the GNA at Hohoe during an evaluation tour of four projects being undertaking by some NGOs in the Volta Region. They are All-Age Development Centre (ADEC), Hohoe, Progressive Women's Movement, Wusuta near Kpando, Agbelengor Women's Movement, Gbi-Kledzo near Hohoe and Plan Parenthood Association of Ghana at Sogakope. Ms Solnon commended the NGOs for their dedication and rated their performance at eight on a 10-point scale.

She said the Embassy supported activities on Women and Children's empowerment in addition to assistance to the physically challenged, construction of dams and other economic ventures.

Mr Patrick Ahumah, Executive Director of ADEC, praised the team from the Embassy for their visit and said their periodic tours would boost their morale and keep them on their toes.

He thanked the French Embassy for its assistance to ADEC.
