Teachers have been charged to give in their best in the educational development of pupils, despite the challenges they encounter.

Parents have also been advised to take full responsibility of their children to augment government effort of ensuring, all children of school-going age are seen in our various schools.

Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of New Juaben North Municipality, Comfort Asante as part of visit to some schools on "My First Day At School", encouraged teachers not to relax on their responsibility based on current challenges they may be facing but rather, consider the welfare of pupils they are nurturing.

She said Government is committed to the development of early childhood education, hence investing in the development of education at all levels.

Madam Comfort Asante was also hopeful the new curriculum would improve the quality of education, and therefore, urged teachers to put into practices the knowledge they have acquired from the just-ended training on the new curriculum.

On her part, Madam Beverly Dansoa Bartels, the Municipal Education Director, advised teachers to see pupils as their own and ensure they (teachers) instill discipline into pupils in addition to the academic work.

"The new curriculum is more inclusive so I am sure it will make teaching and learning interactive, and that would actually let pupils understand things better" she stressed.

Some schools visited were; Mpaem M/A Primary, Oyoko Methodist Primary, Asokore Roman Primary, Effiduase Presbyterian Primary, and others.

Newly recruited pupils were given learning materials such as; writing boards, pencils, reading and arithmetic cards, chalks, erasers as well as soft drinks and biscuits to refresh pupils.

Pupils were also assured to have good treatment from teachers and government and therefore asked to attend school daily.
