A group of Workers has expressed dismay on Controller and Accountant Generals Department(CAGD) over what they referred to as deliberate act to frustrate newly recruited staff.

According to these workers, they carried out their biometric in July and were to receive their salaries in August but later realized they were not paid. Highlighting on the point they stated that they went to their payslips only to realize it was blank with an error message stating

"No payslip for the selected month or year. Try again with another month or year".

This according to the staffs have kept them between two walls since the Controller Department has not come out with any notice stating the reason for withholding their salaries.

Full Statement
We concerned newly recruited staff are highly disappointed with this act of not paying our salaries. We have worked for the month and other months and deserve to be paid, I am a nurse and my colleagues here are also teachers who have struggled for the past month to serve our dear nation, we have debts to settle and other responsibilities to undertake, it will be unfair for an individual who will never deny himself or herself their monthly salary for any reason to withhold the little salary we deserve for personal reasons. We are in deprived areas working tirelessly to serve our country and I don't think it will be fair for any individual to sit and withhold salaries over an alleged investigation which targets a few individuals over no officially stated reasons.

We are actually sad and disappointed.
The newly recruited staff called on the heads of the various departments to pay them their arrears and salaries.
