A company specialised in the processing of certified organic and fair-trade crude palm oil and source raw organic cocoa beans for the international market in Akyem Asuom, Serendipalm Company Limited has been recognized for its role in the development in the agricultural sector in Ghana.

This was announced at the recent inter-regional executive conference of the General Agricultural Workers’ Union, Ghana in the Volta, Greater Accra and Eastern at Koforidua in the Eastern region.

It follows the company’s work on new development technologies in the agricultural sector that is changing lives of the rural small-holder farmers and creating jobs for the teeming unemployed populace of the Kwaebibirem municipality.

Speaking with the media on the award recognition, the Deputy General Secretary of GAWU, Mr. Andrews Tagoe said the company deserved this recognition for their respect for the environmental conservation and fair working conditions for its employees. "The company has over the years of establishment worked in the reversing the depletion of the environment through their conservation and regenerative farming approaches and also in all building a cordial relationship with its employees and their community through fairness”.

“We work with similar companies in the Oil palm Sector and observations about the company is their sense of working for the mutual benefit of the employees and the communities in which it operates”. In our quest to help other related agriculture and agro-based companies under our umbrella to emulate the good step taken by Serendipalm Company Limited we at this occasion recognized them for the good work executed so far," Mr. Tagoe explained.

He encouraged the company to continue on their journey to success and ensure more regenerative approaches related to farming are introduced to curb the emerging climate changes and also continue operating in fairness for the benefit of the employees of the company.

"The company is becoming a model that all agricultural companies and other industries under the trade union can emulate as part of their operations and implement in their working conditions to create an enabling environment for workers and their communities.

“Serendipalm Company Limited will have an excellent story to share across the globe in the near future and this is good step in the sustainable standards for all agriculture businesses in Ghana,” Mr. Tagoe emphasised.

Mr. Paul Appenteng, a worker at Serendipam and local executive of GAWU expressed appreciation to the union for the recognition of the great work the company and assured the management of the union that they as workers will work in good harmony with the management to chalk more success in addition to all that has been achieved.

“As workers we are poised to deliver our best with the company and achieve more for our community,” he assured.

The Serendipalm Company Limited is an Organic and Regenerative agricultural company which sources organic fresh palm fruits from rural small-holder farmers and processed into crude organic and fair-for-life palm oil and organic cocoa beans for the international market. The company is situated in the Akyem Asuom of the Eastern part of the Ghana and has been operating and supporting community development through their operations.
