Takoradi, Feb.18, GNA - The Western Regional Secretary of the Ghana Trades Union Congress (GTUC), Mr. Micheal A. B. Quarm is reported dead. Mr Quarm 56, also known as Uncle B, died at the Eikwe Saint Martin De Porres Catholic Hospital on February 4, this year, after a short illness.
Mr. Emmanuel Ghansah, Chairman of the Sekondi-Takoradi District Council of Labour announced this at an emergency meeting at of the union in Takoradi on Friday.
He said Mr Quarm would be laid in state on Saturday February 25 at the Saint Raphael's Catholic Church Eikwe in the morning and buried on the same day.
Mr. Ghansah therefore, appealed to managements of all organisations under the TUC to send delegations to mourn the deceased.
