Ghana Tourism Launched 2019 Tourism Day

Ghana tourism authority has launched 2019 world tourism day in Kumasi, Wednesday.

The celebration slated 24th September to 27th dubbed "Tourism as means of creating jobs" will address critical challenge confronting the job market in the country.

Mr. Kwasi Agyeman the chief executive of the sector says this year celebration to mark In the Ashanti region is to honour the Asantene Otumfuor Osei Tutu II.

He noted Ashanti is the cultural heartbeat of the nation hence the need to celebrate this year occasion in Kumasi.

This he said is to also create awareness of tourism and its benefiting factor to the country economic development.

As part of the activities to mark this year celebration, Mr. Agueman stated that " there will be quiz competition in various on 24th, clean up exercise and floats, on 25th, Symposium at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, 26th and Chief durbar on 27th".

According to him, tourism is one major area to drive out employment is taken seriously as a nation.

He said tourism include drivers, cloth sellers, Hotels among many others.

He, therefore, called on all stakeholders on board to make this year celebration a memorable one.
