I Told You John Mahama Is a Liar

Features I Told You John Mahama Is a Liar
AUG 15, 2019 LISTEN

I have always maintained that former President John Dramani Mahama is a pathological and congenital liar and a fraudster who has absolutely no business being in public service or government, let alone assuming the august mantle of the Presidency of the Sovereign Democratic Republic of Ghana. And now, true to our expectations, Mr. Kingsley Agyeman, the Registrar of the Scholarship Secretariat, has come out to boldly and publicly expose the former President for being what most Ghanaians have always known him to be, a pathological liar and an incurable fraudster.

You see, as the former Rawlings-appointed Communication Minister has always invidiously done by vacuously attempting to opportunistically ingratiate himself with Ghana’s Muslim community, against his far more progressive and competent political opponents, Mr. Mahama, once again, deviously capitalized on the recent Muslim celebration of Eid-ul-Adha, the annual commemoration of the Abraham and Isaac Story of the Sacrificial Lamb mythology, to effusively insult the intelligence of the members of the Zongo community by falsely claiming to have sent some female members of the Zongo community to Cuba to train as medical specialists, including critical training in gynecology (See “Mahama’s Claims on Cuban-Trained Doctors False – Scholarship Secretariat” CitiNewsRoom.com / Ghanaweb.com 8/13/19).

This is rather criminally pathetic, but the fact of the matter is that throughout his scandalous and corruption-wracked political career, Mr. Mahama does not seem to have honestly and honorably passed up any opportunity that presented itself to him for lying and unconscionably attempting to insult the intelligence of Ghanaian citizens and eligible voters. From the Scholarship Secretariat’s Mr. Kingsley Agyeman, we learn that absolutely none of the 250 candidates sent to Cuba for medical training in 2012 were trained as specialists of any sort. Equally significantly, we also learn that these medical students were actually personally dispatched to Cuba by the late President John Evans Atta-Mills, and not Mr. John Dramani Mahama, although the latter was the right-hand man or Vice-President of Ghana at the time.

The stark and characteristically disappointing fact of the matter, to hear Mr. Agyeman tell it, is that during the four-and-half-year tenure of Mr. Mahama, not a single Ghanaian, either from the Zongo community or outside of the latter had been dispatched for a training course, medical or non-medical, whatsoever, in Cuba. And then of those dispatched to Cuba under the tenure of President Atta-Mills, only 42.5-percent had been made up of women, and a humongous 57-5-percent of the medical school candidates had been comprised of men. What the foregoing means is that the Mahama government made absolutely no major attempt to even out the steep lopsided gender imbalance between men and women practitioners in the medical and paramedical field in the country.

According to Mr. Agyeman, of the Scholarship Secretariat, one can aptly conclude that the former President is all about “talking a good game,” as New Yorker are wont to say, and doing absolutely nothing to back up the same. You see a leader who is not either visionary or enlightened enough to recognize the basic elementary fact that a sound healthcare system depends not only on general medical practitioners, but well-trained specialists as well, cannot be expected to provide a good quality-of-life service to the people. No wonder, then, that under the tenure of the National Democratic Congress, the quality of healthcare has always precipitously plummeted to the doldrums and with it, the life-expectancy rate of the Ghanaian people.

This flagrant peddling of falsehood by Mr. Mahama, in a bid to creating widespread disaffection for President Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is very ironic, because in recent months the propaganda mantra of the key operatives of the National Democratic Congress has been that Nana Akufo-Addo massively defeated then-incumbent President John Dramani Mahama in the 2016 Presidential Election, because the former had systematically and suavely lied to Ghanaian voters. Now, all Ghanaians know that it is rather the NDC’s Presidential Candidate for Election 2020 the very tissue and fabric of whose tongue is wholly composed of “Vitamin Mendacity” or Vitamin-M. Or is it Vitamin-L?
