Amenfi East District Muslims Association inaugurated

Wassa Akropong (W/R) Feb.10, GNA- Amenfi East District Muslims Association (AEDMA), has been inaugurated at Wassa Akropong on Tuesday, with a call on members to contribute to the development of the area. According to Mr Zakari Osuman, the General Secretary of the association, it seeks to bring Muslims in the district under one umbrella to enhance their welfare and towards the development of the district.

In an interview with GNA at Wassa Akropong, the General Secretary of the group said the association would pay particular attention to secular and Islamic education.

Mr Osumanu said English/Arabic Schools in the area would be rehabilitated and new ones constructed to facilitate teaching and learning.

He said the association would recruit teachers and Malams and pay them salaries to teach in the schools. Mr Osumanu said Muslim women would also be assisted to enable them go into income generating activities. 10 Feb. 06
