History reveals a dictatorship form of government in Africa results in brutal killings

A dictator is a politician who concentrates in his person all the powers that are distributed among several institutions in democratic systems. Taking this definition into consideration, are some leaders born dictators or why do they become one?

If you want to see how people are power-drunk, do everything to be in power or keep power, give them an inch, they will take a yard, or give them a yard, they will take a mile because the heart of a leader who has dictatorship tendencies is filled with greed and often, they lack conscience and integrity.

In the political history of Africa, Google search of African dictators give the names of Idi Amin of Uganda, Paul Biya of Cameroun, Hissene Habré of Chad, Omar Al-Bashir of Sudan, Siad Barre of Somalia, Macias Nguema of Equatorial Guinea, Sekou Toure of Guinea, Sani Abacha of Nigeria, Charles Taylor of Liberia and Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe.

What explains the lifeline of dictators? These authoritarian leaders start off pretty well, showing promise, but then slide into violence and atrocities.

Others, on the contrary, having come to power in a dubious way, gradually acquire demonic heart, forcing them to unleash selfish and greedy rule to dominate and oppress people, all in the name of the ‘almighty power.’

The fact we can’t ignore is we still have current African dictators in camouflage, who pretend they follow democracy, yet their deeds actually reveal the sort of people they are. They have bad blood, stubborn, ill-feeling, wouldn’t like to listen to anybody and usually feel okay with their greed and hostility type of government.

If democracy is gradually becoming a dictatorship form of government, ministers, and supporters of the government wouldn’t criticize because they avoid being called traitors.

It’s only the opposition which has a voice to speak out but the result only leads to tougher repression and the possibility of a peaceful outcome becomes even smaller.

A lot of bad things are happening over the years, under the leadership of many African leaders, which are affecting the people, media, and companies, yet the leaders don’t like to be criticized.

As before, more than half of humanity is in one way or another under pressure, coupled with the use of dictatorial methods in government administration.

Surprisingly, the increase in such a form of government in Africa gets attraction and support from foreign governments that preach about democracy, yet ignore the dictatorship of governments in Africa because they need something from those corrupt and greedy African leaders.

Research reveals that African dictators are killing machines. Past African leaders considered as dictators, such as Robert Mugabe, Charles Taylor, and Yahya Jammeh, etc, killed. The worse of them was Idi Amin.

The ruthless tyrant ruler killed over 300,000 political enemies but an estimate compiled by exile organizations with the help of Amnesty International puts the number killed at 500,000.

“For what profits a man if he gains the whole world but loses his own soul?” Greed, that strong selfish desire to have all the power or money, never breeds a healthy nation.

It rather divides a nation and plunges people lives into poverty, agony, misery, and death. The politics of terror which has led to the death of thousands of Africans should serve a lesson to current African leaders.
