President of the Ghana Youth Conference, Vincent Letsa Kobla Djokoto, has criticised the NPP over its intent to splash US$200 million on a new parliament chamber.
Vincent Letsa Kobla Djokoto, a member of the Tɛngɛ Dzokoto Royal Family of Anyako, speaking to Benjamin Akakpo on the Class 91.3 FM Executive Breakfast Show, said: “I do not think, amid the broad social issues we face as Ghanaians, that splashing US$200 million on a new parliament is the right thing to do now. The government must invest in affordable healthcare and education instead. The NPP's priorities are misplaced."
The new Chamber, with a sitting capacity of about 450 Members of Parliament, would house other facilities including diplomatic offices, a library, a museum, a church, a mosque, eateries, press conference rooms, galleries, a car park, an upper gallery garden, a post office and other facilities to complete the Parliamentary enclave.
