If the Chamber is not dropped, then the MPs must be dropped in 2020
My heart is heavy everyday looking at the challenges ordinary Ghanaians are going through to make ends meet. Sometimes it is hard to imagine what is going on in the minds of our leaders. I am unsure whether they are unware of the hardships and miseries of Ghanaians in the rural communities and the urban areas or they just failed to acknowledge and work towards making the appropriate policies and committing resources to ensure the right people benefits. Whatever it is, I still have hope in the leadership and believe they will one day prioritize the needs of the mass minority in the country. For our leaders have conscience and are smart and compassionate. After all, the members of parliament represent the interest of the people. So how can you represent someone you have no interest in helping or empowering? On the other hand, how can you vote someone who least have your interest at heart to represent and voice your needs and priorities for solutions in government? The MP’s are at fault if it is their first term in parliament, for the failed to deliver as promised. But the voters are at fault if the leaders are serving more than one term with such attitudes, after all, the voters gave them the opportunity to screw them. But seriously, of all the challenges in the country, a chamber is just too much to comprehend as a priority. But all hope is not lost, I know most of the MPs still have their community members at heart and Ghanaians too have the best of Ghana at heart and will do the right thing.
So Dear active MPs, you and I both know the Chamber is unnecessary and must not be consented to no matter the situation. You are there to serve and not to enjoy luxury. There are still communities in the country with poor road network which leads to the death of pregnant women and other citizens due to the time it takes to reach the nearest health facility. Dear MP do you have such communities in your jurisdiction? If yes, then you have no business consenting to building a Chamber unless you want to be a contributor to murder. For deaths that could have been avoided are the same as murder if it is due to negligent. Secondly, there are still schools under trees, we have double track due to poor infrastructure and Ghana was currently ranked as 2nd to last in quality education worldwide, yet that is not prioritized in parliament. If you are an MP with double track in your jurisdiction and records poor performance coupled with schools under trees, then you have no business consenting to the Chamber. If you do, then you are a dream killer and do not deserve to be there. Lastly, graduate and youth unemployment is skyrocketing in the country. The youth are losing hope in themselves, the leaders and the country. Yet that is not worth investing $200million in reducing. If you are an MP and have unemployment in your area and even think of consenting to this Chamber business, then you do not deserve another chance.
Dear citizens, this Chamber business is something every Ghanaian should not consent to irrespective of your political affiliation. This is not an issue of NPP, NDC, CPP and others. It is a matter of national priority. If you are a citizen and even think for a second that this Chamber business is the way forward, then you do not appreciate and understand the needs and plight of your fellow Ghanaians and Ghana as a country. It is about time citizens act as such and be objective irrespective of your political opinion. Before you belong to that party, you are a Ghanaian first and Ghana must come first before anything else. Also if you are a citizen and your MP consent to this Chamber business, then you have no business voting that MP in 2020 to go and continue that nonsense! If the Chamber is not dropped then the MPs must be dropped in 2020.
After all, your vote is your power and the youth must analyses and vote wisely!!!
